Kingsgate Projects is owned and run by Paul Stephens, a fully qualified carpenter with 30 years experience working either solo on small specialist projects or overseeing full refurbishments.
We are fully experienced in all types of period refurbishment or replacement including wall panelling, alcove cupboards, walk in wardrobes, doors and all interior/exterior woodwork.
Alongside carpentry, we are able to oversee larger projects such as garage conversions, small extensions and creating new internal spaces/rooms with stud walls.
We are always happy to quote on jobs of all sizes and advise on creative solutions as required.
In-between client work, Paul renovates his own home and the 1968 build detached house was totally gutted and rebuilt with new eco-features such as the removal of the ground floor concrete and laying insulation under before screeding over, removing narrow pipes and upgrading the heating system to a pressurised one, rebuilding the roof plus upgrading all the internals.
Paul has now relocated to Margate from South East London this year after finishing a full refurbishment on a Georgian townhouse in the conservation area purchased in 2012. The house was built in 1826 but 'modernised' with bay windows in 1870. It had been an unlicensed HMO for the many years and was in a very neglected state. Works involved removing the lathe and plaster from the walls, completely refitting all the plumbing and wiring, replacing the roofs (both flat and sloped) and restoring the original panelling and all the interior woodwork.
Paul can offer advice on all projects, large and small involving carpentry and is able to project manage larger domestic refurbishments and co-ordinate trades on behalf of the customer when required.
